Executives, Fortune 500 members meet with LU students
A group of executives from various state companies met with some of Langston University's "best and brightest" students on Friday. The institution bused officials from companies such as ONEOK, OG&E, BancFirst, The Oklahoman, and the Children's Hospital from its Oklahoma City campus to its main campus in Langston.

Teach for America offers college grads a great job, opportunity to serve others

College graduates who are interested in teaching or simply looking for a job should know about Teach for America, a national service organization that provides college grads with an opportunity to teach school in communities that desperately need them. The program is open to college graduates in all majors from all backgrounds, regardless of age.

While vocational training plays a key role in the center life at Guthrie Job Corps, every student is encouraged to obtain a GED or high school diploma through academic training prior to leaving the center. Academic training includes basic reading and math courses as well as courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills, which are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace easily.
