Refund Check Disbursement Information

Langston University has taken the position that refunds will be disbursed in accordance to the following schedule:

Refunds dated Monday, February 16, 2009 will be disbursed at the Business Office on February 20, 2009.

Any refunds dated after Monday, February 16, 2009 will be disbursed 5 business days (excludes Saturday and Sunday) after the date indicated on the student's account. [On your student account, when the refund program has been initiated, your account will reflect "Financial Aid Refund," the date initiated, and amount.] Because of State processing requirements and verification procedures, your refunds will be disbursed in 5 business days from the date reflected as your refund date.

Refunds will run on Mondays and Thursdays. Refunds dated on Mondays will be disbursed on Fridays. Refunds dated on Thursdays will be disbursed on the following Wednesday. If we encounter a system problem, we will rectify the problem and refunds will be run immediately thereafter. An announcement will be posted at the Business Office regarding anticipated disbursement dates if this occurs.

Please identify your refund date on your account when you arrive to pick up your refund. This will expedite the process.

This schedule is necessary due to the requirements of the federal government to return funds for students who do not complete 60% of the semester enrollment. The University will not be able to pay back funds on behalf of potential borrowers. Additionally, the University must verify that appropriate charges have been applied to the student's account, in order to alleviate balances due to late charges.

The Business Office would like to take the opportunity to thank the Langston University students for their cooperation. We are here to assist you. The Business Office has set-up a kiosk with a computer for students to access their accounts in the Business Office.
